Study 16:
Analysis of approaches to fee policy for spectrum usage across the EU, identification of general principles and recommendations for possible changes for the Czech Republic, inter alia in connection with the development of 5G networks
Across EU countries, there are differing approaches to spectrum usage fees, which may or may not be applied, thereby creating an additional cost for electronic communications (wireless) network operators. The aim of the study is to identify general principles across the EU, to conduct a comparative analysis of fees in the Czech Republic based on Government Regulation No. 154/2005 Coll. (Government Regulation on the Determination of the Amount and Method of Calculation of Fees for the Use of Radio Frequencies and Numbers), and to summarize possible recommendations for the Czech Republic in the context of supporting the country’s further development.
